A church grounded in the Word and centered on Jesus Christ.

We are a Christian community of the Congregational tradition, rooted in Reformed Christian theology.

We believe that the Scriptures are the Word of God and that salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith in Christ. That is why we gather to worship God, hear the preaching of the Gospel, care for one another and serve the city of Pombal and the Sertão.

More than an institution, we are a family of faith that would love to walk alongside you.

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:11 · KJV

It all began in a home, at a gathering of believers.

On December 13, 1970, Presbyterian believers met at the home of Deacon Gerson Martins de Sá and his wife, Eusa Dantas de Sá. From that gathering the Congregational Evangelical Church of Pombal was born.

The church began with 33 members, plus young people and children, and its first pastor was the Reverend José Severino de Araújo.

A family of faith, gathered around the Word.

Worship, teaching, prayer and fellowship mark the life of the church. Here, generations walk together — children, young people, families and members who have been part of this story for decades.
